Military Appreciation Month – Show Your Love

CC_MilitaryMatch_Blog5_2With more than 2.2 million men and women serving in the U.S. military, military appreciation month has lots of individuals to recognize.

Approximately 400,000 are stationed abroad in one of the 150 countries U.S. military bases are maintained. That’s 400,000 reasons to send a care package from home. And, of course, we’d suggest a little cup of home — a delicious cup of coffee goes a long way to provide comfort and support to our U.S. military men and women who show us what it truly means to go beyond every month.

To that end, Community Coffee Company doubles orders for overseas military personnel. Customers order four bags or boxes of Community® coffee from CommunityCoffee.com and the company doubles the order, ships the extra 4 boxes or bags at its cost, and sends a total of eight bags or boxes of coffee plus a signature Military Match mug to the overseas address (APO/FPO) of the customer’s choice.

Customers have the opportunity to choose one of their favorite blends. Just this month, based on feedback from military personnel, 12 new options have been added to the program including single-serve blends and flavors. Customers can go to http://www.communitycoffee.com/militarymatch to select from the Military Match program options and place their order.

This past year, in partnership with its customers, Community Coffee Company reached a new milestone with more than 20,000 pounds or 10 tons of coffee shipped to overseas military personnel over the past 5 years.

Perfect Presents

Valentine’s Day will forever be associated with the classic gifts of cards, roses, and chocolates. And you can’t go wrong with those mainstays. But this year try shaking up convention with some innovative and non-traditional gift-giving ideas for your special someone, even if that someone is yourself.

Don’t Overdo it: The perfect gift depends most importantly on the status of your particular romantic situation.  Lisa Daily, the author of Stop Getting Dumped, says the key in the early day is balance. You want a gift that says, “I was thinking of you, but not obsessing over you.”

For a just budding relationship (think one to three dates), Daily recommends a gift you might bring a hostess at a party: wine or treats. Try something other than candy: cookies, a favorite snack food, or dinner at a new, unique restauV-day_foodrant.

The longer you’ve been together by the time Valentine’s Day rolls around, the more intimate and expensive a gift can be.

It Really IS the Thought That Counts: If you’re in a longer-term relationship, from 6 months to 6-plus years, you probably know enough about the other person to personalize your gift. Show how much you appreciate and care for your significant other. Save the sappy clichés for the card and make the gift really meaningful, says Robin Gorman Newman, author of “How to Marry a Mensch.” Get something your sweetie always talks about, but would never buy for him or herself.

Catering to your love’s special interests or giving something that promotes you being together will mean much more than three dozen red roses or expensive jewelry. Think of our pairing suggestions from our previous blog – just knowing and selecting your sweethear’ts favorite dessert and taking the time to pair it with a yummy coffee can really mean so much.

In Gratitude for Our Military Personnel, Community Coffee Company Partners with Customers to Supply Cup of Home to Those Serving Overseas

Landmark 20,000 Lbs Received!

Flag_CupWith the close of 2013, we have reached a new landmark with more than 20,000 pounds of coffee having been shipped to overseas military personnel through our Military Match program since the program’s inception. This is only accomplished through a partnership with our customers.

“The coffee that we receive while deployed to Kuwait through the Military Match Program was like a slice of home here in the Middle East,” said CPT Noel S. Bellas, Commander 1021st Vertical Engineer Company, Louisiana Army National Guard, Kuwait.  “It really had a positive impact on the morale of our Soldiers to have something as familiar as Community Coffee in the mornings because Community Coffee is our overwhelming brand of choice for the majority of our Soldiers in the 1021st EN CO.  We have shared it with our sister units from around the country.”

Every day, our U.S. military men and women show us what it truly means to go beyond. It can be so important to our servicemen and servicewomen to get a care package from home. And, of course, we’d suggest a little cup of home — a great cup of coffee goes a long way to provide comfort. We are deeply honored to have shipped more than 20,000 pounds of coffee to our servicemen and servicewomen since 2008.

  • Community Coffee Company supports the U.S. military personnel by doubling orders to ensure servicemen and servicewomen get a cup of home.
