Beyond Brave: Honoring Veterans Day

“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations.” — U.S. President Woodrow Wilson proclaiming Armistice Day for November 11, 1919.

Flag_CupIn 1926, Congress adopted a resolution declaring November 11 as Armistice Day, and then changed the name to Veterans Day in 1954.

Since then, Veterans Day is a time to remember and recognize those brave men and women who have gone into harm’s way and the sacrifices they have made to protect our freedom. We owe our freedoms to the sacrifice made by our nation’s veterans.

Every day, our U.S. military men and military women show us what it truly means to go beyond. It can be so important to our servicemen and servicewomen to get a care package from home. And, of course, we’d suggest a little cup of home — a great cup of coffee goes a long way to provide comfort.

Final_MilitaryMatchPageCommunity Coffee Company would like to express a sincere THANK YOU to all veterans past, present and future. And to that end, we have been doubling coffee orders sent to our troops overseas since 2008 and have donated more than 19,500 pounds of coffee.

Through our Military Match program, customers can purchase four bags of Community® coffee for those serving abroad and the company will match the order with four additional bags to military addresses (APO/FPO addresses). All eight bags plus a signature Military Match mug will be shipped to the APO/FPO address provided.

We encourage you to find a way to show your support of our troops this Veterans Day.
