Mocha Java is not just a nickname for coffee – it’s the world’s oldest recorded coffee blend. This unique Middle Eastern and Indonesian blend hails from the Port of Java, where coffee originated and the city of Mocha, now in modern day Yemen.
From the 15th to 17th centuries, Mocha was the largest port in Yemen, where coffee beans were traded and transported. Sailors would often travel between Mocha and Java, and as a result, this traditional coffee blend was created.
